Climbing Camp Slovenia
Discovering famous climbing areas in Slovenia, Croatia and Italy in six days – International Climbing Camp ICS – climbing areas Osp, Črni Kal, Mišja Peč, Limski Kanal, Napoleopnica, Rovinj – for all experienced climbers and beginners – climbing party – lectures from the best world climbers – testing new equipment – and most of all, climbing in amazing areas in three countries – socializing and enjoying time in climbing community – a way to discover how it feels when you are ” pumped up” – Full service!
A way for everybody to enjoy time with climbers from all around and to share experiences. Camp will be placed only five minute walk away from Osp and Mišja Peč, the most famous Slovenian climbing areas. We will be visiting also climbing areas on the Italian coastline, Croatia and Slovenia with nice and legendary climbing spots. Some of the areas have been recently discovered, others have a long and rich history. We will visit climbing areas Osp, Črni Kal, Mišja Peč, Rovinj, Limski Kanal and Napoleonica. Tadej Slabe climbed in Mišja Peč Za staro kolo in majhnega psa (graded 8c+), which is one of the hardest routes in the world. Camp will be adjusted for total beginners and very good climbers. Camp is placed under a big, more than 100 meter high wall in Osp.
General idea of the camp is hanging with climbers from all around the world, having fun with a view on the big Osp climbing wall and progress in climbing.

Itinerary at a glance:
Day 1: Arrive in Climbing area in Osp in camp Vovk , afternoon warming up in climbing walls close to the camp (Osp, Mišja Peč)
Day 2: Climbing in Napoleonica (Italy), Slovenian pica and afternoon swimming in Slovenian sea
Day 3: Hiking on the Karst edge, afternoon Osp Climbing Contest and climbing community party
Day 4: All day climbing trip to Croatian Istra area (climbing areas Rovinj and Limski kanal), afternoon visiting old magical town Rovinj and swimming in Croatian sea
Day 5: Climbing personal projects in Osp and Mišja Peč, free afternoon and optional activities and picnic party
Day 6: Departure
Climbing camp will take place in legendary climbing area Osp close to Mišja Peč and Osp climbing area. Camp will include six days of climbing, traveling, progressing, learning and relaxing.
Sunny Osp or Crni kal – one of the most beautiful Slovenian climbing areas with famous Misja pec, known all over the world among climbers, offer great conditions for rock climbing in summer and winter. You can enjoy climbing on the sun in shorts!
Osp and Crni Cal, Napoleonica, Rovinj are the extensive climbing areas with well equipped routes, which are one of the best for climbing on the three borders. The rock is solid and routes of different grades are suitable for beginners and for more demanding or better climbers.
Activities: Climbing in top areas Osp, Črni Kal, Mišja Peč, Rovinj, Limski Kanal and Napoleonica, swimming in Adriatic Sea and hiking on the Karst edge. Visiting old Istrian town Rovinj and meeting new friends from all over the world.
DAY 1
Arriving to the Slovenian Coast, to Karst and close to the sea. Traditional Slovenian lunch and climbing in famous walls of Osp and Mišja Peč, close to the camping area where Climbing camp is placed. In the evening we will have climbing party 1. Does anyone know how to play a guitar?
DAY 2
After breakfast short trip to climbing area Napoleonica in Italy. Napoleonica offers good climbing and spectacular views of the sea. After climbing we will stop at the sea side for famous Slovenian pica. When you will try it you will be in doubt that pica was invented in Italy. We will jump into the water later and take a swim in Adriatic sea. In the evening we will have a barbecue picnic and a party.
DAY 3
In the morning after breakfast, hiking on the Karst edge with special views on climbers under us and on Slovenian Istra. In the afternoon, climbing in the Osp and Mišja Peč walls above the camp of Osp, areas only 5 minute walk away from the climbing camp. This day we will have a climbing contest during the climb. Every participant will be able to try the ultimate routes in grades from 4… to 8 or 9… Competitions will be in two levels: beginner (top rope) and climber level (leading). Competition will have one simple rule, collect points regarding clipped qickdraws and grade of the route. At the end we will get climbing queens of ICS camp and climbing kings of ICS camp. In the evening we will have a climbing party with an interesting lecture of one of the best world climbers.
DAY 4
All day trip to beautiful climbing areas in Croatian Istra area and coast line. We will visit an easier climbing area Rovinj, with some climbing sectors of the routes just above the sea, advanced climbers will have an option to visit Limski Kanal climbing area with harder routes also. At the end, both groups will meet for lunch in an Old Istrian town Rovinj. Swimming in Croatian sea in the afternoon and Portorož at night on the way back.
DAY 5
Climbing in the walls of Črni Kal few kilometrs above the village Osp. It will be the last day of climbing, so we will use all the energy that is left in our hands. In the evening we will have final picnic and review of the last climbing days. We will also look all the pictures made on the climbing camp on a screen.
DAY 6
Free morning after breakfast for conclusions of the camp and the last thought; Slovenia is great for climbing and like most of our visitors you will say: “I’ll be back.”; Arrival to the Ljubljana Airport at 11am and 14pm.

Camp is placed only 10 minutes drive from Slovenian coastal cities Koper, Piran, Portorož and only 5 minutes walk to the best climbing areas in Slovenia, Osp and Mišja Peč wall. Weather in Slovenia and in sea side in that period is supposed to be sunny, warm and stable, day temperatures between 20 and 30 Degrees Celsius, sea temperatures 20 to 25 degrees Celsius.
Everybody who loves climbing. Camp is adjusted to total beginners who want to learn basics of sport climbing and to those who are good climbers and want to discover new climbing areas and meet new climbing friends and community.
Difficulty
It is good to be basically fit for the camp. Program is personally adjusted to all climbers, beginners or people who like climbing.
Camps include pick-up and drop-off at the Ljubljana International Airport (Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport). On arrival day on Tuesday 11.9.2012 at 9am and 11am and drop off all campers at Ljubljana Airport on Sunday 16.9.2012 at 11am or at 14pm. By request we also do pick-up and drop-off from capital city Ljubljana. There are good connections and cheap flights from London Stansted and Paris Charles de Gauelle Airport (EasyJet: http://www.easyjet.com/asp/en/book/index.asp?lang=en)
Accommodation
Accommodation in tents in Vovk camping area in Osp. Climbing camp is structured with tents for sleeping and tents for supply (socializing tent and equipment tent).
Food
Breakfast will be served between 8.00 – 9.00 in the morning, lunch at 13.00 – 14.00 and dinners between 19.00 and 20.00 in the evening. All vegetarians will receive no meat food. Food in the range from classic European barbecue to traditional Slovenian food will be served.
All the necessary equipment for climbing during the camp is provided (climbing shoes, ropes, helmet, harness, technical equipment). Campers need to bring along:

• Socks – thick, made of wool, coolmax
• Jacket – lightweight, wind & waterproof

• Mid – layer – warm (fleece)
• Warm hat, gloves – wool or fleece
• Sunhat – sun protection

• Sunglasses, sunscreen, lip salve
• Rucksack – light, easy to fold, strong material, adjustable straps, rain cover for the hiking and climbing trips
• First aid kit (tape, plasters, adhesive, insect repellent,..)
• Other – water bottle, toilet paper, strings, pencils, safety pins, pocket knife, refreshing handkerchiefs
• Enough extra sport clothes for six days
